I've got to say Warrior vs. Andre probably could not have been that solid a match at that point in Andre's career. They tried a ten-minute match on Saturday Night's Main Event and to say it tarnished the legend of Andre would be putting it kindly. True, if the Andre vs Ultimate Warrior match was towards the end of Andre's career then your right, it's truely ashame how quickly Andre weakened at the end of his Wrestling career, and truely ashame that he died soon after. His last few years must of been tough on Andre but he wanted to remain in Wrestling as long as he could. I still hate that towards the end of Andre's career they made him turn Heel, especially considering he was a big lovable Giant and should always be remembered that way. Any comments about the end of Andre's Career? RIP Jolly Giant.

I think The Heel Turn was a good idea but it went on to long.
Andre Should have turned Face after Summerslam 88 When he and Ted DiBiase were deffeted by Hogan & Savage.
They could have done exactly the same thing they did with Haku and Bobby Heenan at WM6 just sub in Ted DiBiase for Haku.
Ted could have blamed Andre for the loss and Heenan could have sided with him Heenan could have slaped Andre.
Andre clocks Heenan, DiBiase tries to put him in The Million Dollar Dream but Adre braks it easily and set's DiBiase up for his Neck Lock Suplex.
Virgil runs in and wolops Andre from behind with a chair or something. Andre srugs it of Headbuts Virgil into next Week.
Grabs the reatreating DiBiase and Suplexs him.
End result Andre is a Face again and can at leats have more then just a year and a bit sent on crutches at ringside for his finale Face run.

Hmm, good call and act out Ricky, that could of worked well and brought Andre back to being the "Good Guy" quicker like he should always be remembered.

Well if Vince needs a new Story Writer..........Oh No wait!!! He only hires people who don't know anything about Wrestling and what its fans like.
But seriusly, that could have been a good program DiBiase vs Andre.
I meen in 88 The Giants work was still passable. It was only in the following years that it seriusly went down hill.

I think it's fair to put some things in perspective. There are plenty of countering reports to the idea he was a big "lovable"giant. Granted, he was an incredible talent who should always be remembered as a legend, but his stereotype of being the Jolly French Giant runs directly against the stories told by some of the people who knew him best. Of course, they don't fault Andre because he was always being harassed by fans who always asked the same insulting, nagging questions. Nonethless, I agree - 1988 would have been the opportune time to turn him face because his program with Jake Roberts was the last passable one of his career, and an icon like Andre should be remembered as more than "passable."

Captain Chrisma quote:
Andre's final match was when he and Haku lost the WWF tag team titles to Demolition at WrestleMania VI in 1990, Vince knew Andre was finished so he sent him out on a high note, turning him face.
He was scheduled to make a comeback at the 1991 Royal Rumble in the Rumble match itself, and was advertised on all the posters but his body was knackered. Instead they can an angle where all the managers in the WWF were fighting for his services, trying to sign him, he turned them all down one by one, Jimmy Hart being the last.
As he was in the ring turned down Hart, Earthquake attacked him and destroyed his knee, he then left to have knee surgery and returned, on crutches, to help the Big Boss Man at WrestleMania VII against Mr. Perfect.
He stuck around on TV throughout the rest of 1991, even appearing in the corner of the Bushwhackers when they faced the Natural Disasters at SummerSlam 91. After that, he disappeared from WWF programming for good.
His health got worse and worse after leaving the WWF in late 1991, and while in France in January 1993 attending his Fathers funeral, Andre had a heart attack and died in his room in France.

Like the Hogan-HBK match at SummerSlam 2005, Andre should've turned back to face after WrestleMania III. It was a great match to watch.

No no I have to disagree there.
Andre needed Time off after Wrestlmainia 3 and didn't apper again till Survivor Series least not wrestling so a face turn would have been pointless.
Plus that would have deprived us of the Classic angle with The Million Dollar man buying the title from him, The Tornamant at Wrestlmainia 4 wich saw Macho Madness run wild and then the first Summerslam.
(Which as I said is were Andre should have turned face again.)

You should watch the Andre The Giant DVD! All of his match are excellent. He is the babyface in all of them. My favorite was Andre versus Gorilla MoonSoon in a boxing match. What a classic match!

I always felt bad watching Andre after Summer Slam '88. With the possible exception of the snake "heart attack" angle at Saturday Night's Main Event (copied in a more ridiculous form years later by Ric Flair, but I believe Fritz Von Erich's early '80s "heart attack" preceded them both), it just seemed like he was sticking around to collect a paycheck based on past glories. But "Tied-Dye Dream" Ricky Cool has a point. The stuff with DiBiase was classic, and turning him face before that would have robbed us all of the opportunity to see it. It's really too bad Andre's not still around and in good health; he would fit perfectly into the Hogan/Flair/Michaels comeback spirit now permeating the W.W.E., perhaps even more so than the other three.

Andre was such a huge force and awesome site, in any condition. He just had a great look in the ring. Even towards the end, he looked great outside the ring with Virgil during Ted DiBiase's matches.

Andre's last WWF match was at Wrestlemania VI w/ Haku against Demolition, but he continued wrestling some more nearly up until he died, mainly working tags in Japan and Mexico. At the big WWF/All Japan/New Japan Supershow that took place shortly after 'Mania VI, he teamed w/ Giant Baba against Demolition. As mentioned, he was scheduled to make an in-ring return to the WWF in 1991, but it never happend because his body was just too broken down. His last U.S. appearance was at WCW's Clash of the Champions XX in September 1992 where they were celebrating 20 years of wrestling on TBS.

It was sad watching Andre at the end of his career with his health failing so badly. I was so shocked when they turned him heel in 1987 to face Hulk at Wrestlemania 3, I can still remember watching Piper's Pit and seeing that confrontation between him and Hogan. The funny thing is Andre used to scare me when I was little and watched wrestling even though he was the lovable good guy. I didn't like him as a heel since he was feuding with Hogan and Savage and Elizabeth was involved nobody messed with her!! I was glad he turned face at the end of his career and helped out guys like The Big Bossman in their matches. RIP Andre, you will always be remembered!
