WWE brought back ECW, so why can't WCW make a come back?
I may not be the biggest WCW fan but it would be nice to see them on TV!

Vince bought WCW and it would be up to him wether it returns or not. But I would like to see WCW return.

WCW will not come back for some time. I see the only way of a WCW return is if we have a WCW reunion show(s) that sell out as quickly as the ECW ones did to prove to Vince that the money is there for the project. Since it won't sell out, I doubt Vince will ever bring WCW back. Too many bad memories invloving Ted Turner.

I would really like to see it brought back and the former wrestlers offered contracts if they are not under one or when they are available. I miss the WCW days with the NWO, 4 horsemen, and some many other great storylines that didnt contain the crap Vince pusehes every week.

They wont bring back WCW because wahts the point. ECW can offer a different styles of wrestling to a different varity of fans WCW was pretty much another WWE style shows so why bother ploughing money into a technicaly new venture for where you can put it into your estabhlished brand

Correct Simon. Everybody here seems to be forgetting that Vince McMahon & WWE own ECW & WCW. They wouldn't be competition. Just another "brand extension" like Raw or Smackdown.

I'd like it to, I always wish they went wih the initial idea of still running WCW in the first place after buying it.
If they lump the twp brands together and bring back WCW, it would be better having WWE Vs. WCW than the current seemingly non-existent at times brand fued between RAW and SmackDown!

I think the only value WWE sees in WCW is the tape library. Vince has owned the brand for 5 years now, but he still buries it at every opportunity. Seems to me like he's still bitter about the fact that even though he won the war, there was a time when they were seriously kicking his butt. But aside from that, lets face it, most people aren't really clamoring for a WCW return because even though there were definitely some good times, there were far more bad times. Throughout it's history, the company was almost always in a shambles and the damage that was done to the name by Russo and others near the end is pretty much irreperable. WWE knows that they can get a lot more out of ECW, which still has a tremendous following, and that's why they're looking to resurrect it on a more permanent basis.

I agree WCW did have its hard and good times but IMO I liked the WCW product better. Vince really doesnt do it for me. There are alot of times he just doesnt care about the fans who makes him the sucess he is and some of the storylines he has are just ridiculous. Even though WCW was in shambles at one point I liked the product better because the storylines never involved necrophilia or battles with God.

Well since Vince is the one in charge and WCW is dead, in Vince's eyes, WCW was the inferior brand since they are no longer in business.

WCW was inferior because of the money Vince had to pull many of the stars away from WCW. Plus the WWE was more edgy and went places WCW would not have gone and I believe thats what the younger wrestling fans want and went for. WCW was about putting two top guys in the ring and having them wrestle and the WWE was more about the showmanship than wrestling. WCW had plenty of talent to match WWE. Hogan, Nash, Hall, Konan, Bagwell, Ernest Miller, Scott Norton, Sting, Jeff Jarrett, and many others. So talent wasnt the issue it was what was being presented to the fans and the WWE appealed more to the younger fans.

Money to pull the stars away??? Hello? WCW was owned by Time Warner, who could outspend Vince 100-1 without batting an eye. Kevin Sullivan & Ric Flair, the 2 primary bookers of WCW at that time, believed that Jericho, Benoit, Guerrero were not main event caliber stars and that Malenko & Saturn weren't worth their paycheck. Plus he felt the Giant was a failure because he couldn't dominate like Andre. Inproper booking by Sullivan & Flair and talent mismanagement by Bischoff caused these guys to leave. It wasn't the money, it was WCW stupidity.
