It might be fun to measure irreparable damage now that we have the benefit of hindsight. At the time, you rolled your eyes, but now we can truly see wasted years, wasted talent, wasted earning potential and bad booking ideas. Which do you feel deserves special recognition and which do you feel do not belong on this list?

Agreed, pretty good in Mid-South,yet his career went nowhere as soon as Vince turned him into the pathetic Red Rooster add to that Bushwackers, good as savage heels, again turned into a comedy act by Vince and going on from there Akeem, how the hell do you manage to turn the once fierce looking One Man Gang into a something that resembles a fat laughable giant easter egg,yep the genius known as Vince McMahon can

I'm gonna say Colenel Mustafa (The Iron Shiek). Once he turned into this character, although his Wrestling Skills were in question, his Wrestling skills and character totally went downhill and it's a shame.
Some of them I think you listed actually helped their career to tell you the truth and I enjoyed watching them more. Did any of you?
1. the "Model" Rick Martel 2. Irwin R. Schyster (Mike Rotunda) 3. The King (Harley Race)
I guess they were mostly comical to me and added some good entertainment which I enjoyed.

MY pick was not on the list......how about the polka-dotted "common man" Dusty Rhodes? HE went from being a serious part to the World Title picture to fighting for mid-card status. That's a "dream"!

Well, maybe IRS did help Rotunda in a way, but it kind of disqualified him as a serious wrestler, IMO, and helped ensure his future as a caricature. How can you take a wrestler seriously dressed like that? Moreover, wrestling is a culture based in machismo (apologies to Razor). What is macho about a tax accountant? Maybe the irony was the point.
As for Dusty, Alpha Clash, you're right. I guess he should have been on the list, but I probably omitted him because he seemed to be at the very end of his career and I got the impression that his in-ring future was dim no matter what gimmick he had. Though it is definitely true, that gimmick sucked ass.

I've got to go with the Red Rooster what a horrid gimmick.
I enjoyed
I.R.S, Akeem, King Race & Repo though. I don't think they did as much damage as being ceere killers.

Yeah, good call Alpha, that's definitly true. Although I never liked Dusty anyway, lol. And yeah, the gimmick with Saphire was plain awful, Dusty must of lost a bet or something in a card game and had to do that, lol.

Probably because Vince always hated Dusty back then since he was one of the NWA's top stars, hence Virgil being called after Dusty's real name

It was Vince's way of getting even with Dusty I guess, lol.

Akeem was enjoyable, but only from a humor standpoint. Remember, this was a guy who struck terror into the hearts of normal men as the One Man Gang. Did he deserve to go out as the butt of a racist joke? I.R.S. and Race are debatable, but yeah, I have to admit to enjoying Race. Of course, I didn't know about his N.W.A. legacy back then. Repo was absolutely ridiculous, though. Comparing that character to Demolition Smash is like comparing Britney Spears to a soccer mom.
