ECW on Sci-Fi Opener:[/u]
This week's edition of ECW On Sci Fi opened with a recap of last week's Sandman and Tommy Dreamer vs. Test and Mike Knox match. Of course, they showed Dreamer smacking Kelly Kelly's rear end and him getting laid out by Paul Heyman's Basham Security, and pinned by Test. That led to the show's open. The show opened with a good ECW chant from the fans in Nashville.

Mike Knox vs. Tommy Dreamer[/u]
Mike Knox came out with Kelly Kelly. She looked really hot and showed more sexiness than she has in the past. His opponent was Tommy Dreamer, who limped to the ring to sell last week's throw into the barbed wire.
The match:[/u]
Knox attacked Dreamer as he entered the ring and the match was on. Dreamer came back and limped, selling the injury, into some early offense. After he clotheslined Knox to the floor, he whipped him into the ring steps. Back in the ring, Dreamer hit an elbow drop from the second rope onto Knox, who was dcensord across the ropes. Paul Heyman then came out to ringside, with Basham Security. Dreamer hit a DDT and had Knox pinned but Heyman distracted the ref. Basham Security pulled Dreamer out of the ring and beat him up, which Tazz called the oldest trick in the book. Knox them got the easy pin on the beaten Dreamer.
Winner:[/u] Mike Knox
The Aftermath:[/u]
After the match, Heyman and Basham Security came up on Dreamer menacingly. Heyman asked Tommy if he felt his pain. Just then, Sandman's music hit and he was shown in the crowd as they went to commercial.
In the arena:[/u]
During the commercial, Sandman made his way to the ring and when we came back, Heyman, with security, was facing off with Sandman. That had to be awkward live. Heyman told Sandman he loved Dreamer like a son and he was a disciple. He said he wanted to make a rematch tonight for Dreamer and Sandman from last week, but Tommy is too hurt for it. He told the medical staff to take Dreamer to the back. So, since this is ECW and they don't false advertise, Sandman had to take on Test and Mike Knox by himself. Heyman said it wasn't Extreme Rules so Sandman had to give up the cane. Test came down and kicked Dreamer in the head as he was being carried away.
Handicap Match[/u]

The Sandman vs. Test and Mike Knox[/u]
The match:[/u]
The two heels then beat up Sandman to start the match. Sandman made a brief comeback but since it was a handicap match, the two heels came back and beat on him at the same time. Sandman then grabbed the cane and hit both heels with it. He got DQ'd but he ended up in the ring, standing strong. The announcers sold that he didn't care at all about getting DQ'd. Same as the first match in that it was short but was there for storyline purposes.
Winners by DQ:[/u] Mike Knox and Test
Sabu:[/u]
They aired a cool video on Sabu, followed by Sabu's run ins the last two weeks on Big Show. Sabu then did a promo saying that he has been demanding a title match against Show but the big man has been avoiding him. He said that after he took care of Kurt Angle tonight, he will get what he wants from Show. It's so weird hearing Sabu talk.
Balls Mahoney:[/u]
Balls Mahoney did a promo saying he loves being in ECW. He said he gets to dish out the punishment here and can stay handsome. Or, as he said, maybe not.
Referee:[/u] Unknown
James Thorn vs. Al Snow[/u]
Kevin Thorn, aka Count Chocula, and Ariel came to the ring. I guess it's a better gimmick than Mordecai. Ariel has a cool entrance, hanging upside down on the ropes while Thorn enters the ring. Al Snow came out, without Head.
The match:[/u]
Thorn tried to use Ariel to distract Snow as he entered the ring but Snow didn't bite, pun intended, and had the early advantage. Then, Thorn took over and beat up Snow. He hit a jawbreaker on Snow while Al was on the top rope, but instead of going for the cover, he licked Ariel. Thorn then did the Razor's Edge/Splash Mountain and won the match. It was largely a squash. Afterwards, he vamped with Ariel.
Winner:[/u] Kevin Thorn
Kurt Angle:[/u]
Next up was a video package for Kurt Angle. Failure is not an option when your name is Kurt Angle. Angle then did a promo saying he heard a lot about Sabu. But tonight Sabu will find out that the only thing that is truly suicidal is stepping in the ring with The Wrestling Machine.
Rene Dupree:[/u]
We came back and saw Rene Dupree. He said something in French then followed by saying that he is soon to be the most Extreme athlete in ECW. Uh, OK.
In the arena:[/u]
Big Show came out to ringside, in a suit. Well, kind of. He wasn't wearing a tie but had a jacket on and pants that were too short. He needed to have a party and invite his pants down. Tazz even made a crack about the pants. The other funny part was that he, like most of us, had wrestling boots on with his suit. Show said that he was here to add class and dignity to ECW. He wasn't about the blood and guts. He's the most dominant champ in ECW history and if anyone had a problem with it, they better deal with it. He told Kurt Angle that if he gets in path he will crush his spine like he crushes crackers for his soup (that's a quote). He told Sabu if he stepped in his path, he would be committing suicide. The fans got a good Sabu chant going. A guy in a DX shirt yelled, "Big Show Sucks". Show said there was one Extreme truth in this world, "No one can beat me, no one". Show then left the ring. That was it.
SummerSlam:[/u]
The announcers told us that whoever won between Sabu and Angle would face Show at SummerSlam.
CM Punk:[/u]
They did a video recap of CM Punk's debut from last week. Joey Styles put him over. Punk then did a promo saying that last week he was welcomed into ECW's family, far more than he ever was into his own. He thanked the fans for it. He said all the years of struggle, sacrifice and training paid off. From here on out, it's about the future and what it holds. He said he will be wrestling next week and he will make the most of it. He has to, it's his nature.

Sabu vs. Kurt Angle[/u]
The start:[/u]
Angle grounded Sabu early on. Sabu did a drop toehold and a headlock, but Angle came back with kicks and then by running Sabu into the corner. He missed a spear though and hit the ring post. Sabu backdropped him to the floor and they went to commercial.
Mid-match notes:[/u]
When they came back from commercial, Angle was working over Sabu on the mat. Sabu managed to come back with a flying DDT off of the bottom rope. Sabu got a one count. Sabu laid boots and punches into Angle in the corner before Kurt came back with a big suplex and took control again. Angle hit a Fireman's carry on the floor, rolled Sabu back into the ring and got a two count. Angle went back to work on the mat. Sabu tried to come back with elbows to Kurt's face but Angle kept control. Angle hit a European uppercut but Sabu came back with a double top rope legdrop and got a two, but then he ran into an Angle kick.
Sabu hit a flying boot to the face but Angle hit a German suplex. Then another. He got a two count but Sabu got his leg on the ropes. Angle went for the Angle Slam but Sabu countered with an arm drag and hit another leg to the face off of the ropes for a two of his own. He went for the Camel Clutch but Angle powered out of it and slapped on the Angle Lock. Sabu managed to flip Angle out of the ring to the floor. Sabu splashed him while he was down there. Sabu pushed Angle back in the ring and did a turning splash from the top for a two count. He put Angle into a cross armbreaker but Angle countered into an Angle Lock.
The Finish:[/u]
Just then, Rob Van Dam then made his return, running down to the ring and pretty much whiffing on Van Daminator on Angle. He legdropped the chair onto Angle's head and face. He didn't miss when he kicked a chair into Sabu's face though. That ended the match.
Winner:[/u] No Contest
The Aftermath:[/u]
They went off the air saying we didn't know who the number one contender is. I smell Fatal Four Way at SummerSlam folks.
