I'm just Intrested to know weather or not you dudes and dudedets on this forum feel that Vince and Co wasted a good thing with there push of Lex Luger as "THE MAN MADE IN THE USA." (In Other words a REAL AMERICAN unfortuantly that tiltle already belonged to someone else at the time. ) Should they have made Luger the champ at either Summerslam 93 or Wrestlmainia X. In my personl oppinion as much as I dislike Luger, I do belive his WWF Face run was one of the high points of his career and deffinatly he was one of the most Over wrestlers in the company back then. So I say yes he should have won the title at one of those events. Possiably Summerlsam so Bret could still have won at Wrestlmainia x and gone on to face Owen in there classic cage match at Summerslam 94. But what do you guys and gals think??

I always liked Lex. I do think the WWF gave him a lot of respect and he did real well there too, but your right, he probably should of got a Heavyweight Title run there. I think they should of let him beat Yokuzuna that one time for the Title. USA vs Japan, and ran it from there.

I was one of the ones who met Lex on the LexExpress. I kind of scratched my head, when he never got the belt. Wonder what the circomestances were, because I've heard Vince say, that Luger was 1 guy, he'd NEVER have back in the WWE/F.

Luger was certainly an enigma for the last half of his career. While it was clear in the N.W.A. what he should be doing and who he was (i.e. Horsemen, feud with Flair, heel turn on Steamboat, etc.), he really began to flounder when Ric Flair left W.C.W. His bodybuilding run was, well, not worthy of comment though he had / has an amazing physique. His conversion into the 'Narcissist' was brilliant and natural, but also grew stupid quickly into a one-dimensional gimmick. Even pairing him with Bobby Heenan didn't help. luckily, he wrestled mostly Bret Hart and Mr. Perfect Curt Hennig during this time period, so he could at least create the perception that he was phenomenal. His face turn on the USS Intrepid was surprising to say the least. I never saw it coming, but considering the demise of Hulk Hogan at that time, plus the loss of Davey Boy Smith, Ultimate Warrior, and others, maybe Vince thought he was the next logical successor, but for the first time pretty ever, he chose to keep the heavyweight title on a heel for a long period of time (Yokozuna). I think Lex did a credible job as a face, and Summer slam '93 really should have been his moment to shine, but maybe if Vince really didn't like his attitude or personality backstage, he was right to make it a cheap countout decision. I loved his feud with Ludvig Borga, but it never got off the ground. Borga's anti-American rants were awesome, considering he was a virtual unknown in North America. Anyway, after that, Luger might as well have been invisible, except for the angle where his loyalty to the fans was questioned and it turned out Tatanka had sold out to Ted DiBiase. NOT one of my favorite periods in W.W.F. history.

I never liked Lugar in the WWF, I think he went downhill and commerial there, he didn't look right there. Maybe if they made him this unstoppable power house and Heavyweight Champion ("All American" similar to Hogan) it could of been better and actually a good idea. His AWA/NWA/WCW stuff was just so much better. Lugar, Sting, Flair, and the 4 Horseman, a great time in Wrestling.

I never Liked Lex, and I feel justified in that. I don't feel the WWF had anything with him to waste. Something is deffinately wrong with a wrestler who can't get over with a "USA" gimmick. You need further proof?
