Some new reports have stated that Joey Styles has stopped protesting things he is asked to do by WWE when it comes to his announcing style. It is no secret he butted heads with Vince McMahon when he first signed with the company and become a full-time announcer on Monday Night RAW. His switch over to the ECW brand looked to have been a nice transition, only that McMahon and WWE still want him to announce a certain way regardless if it is ECW or not now that it is under the WWE umbrella.
One report this week stated that Styles had a long meeting with Vince McMahon following the ECW TV taping and that he came out in a less than good mood. So while Styles has a history of calling matches a certain way, WWE wants him to forget that and try a different approach. Whether or not the Tuesday meeting Styles had with McMahon will see that change remains to be seen.

Why do they even bother to call it ECW? Why not just give it another brand name? It'd piss off far fewer people, and maybe make it more acceptable if it wasn't constantly commiting blashphemy in the name of a good, ubt dead promotion.

Once Vince got his hands on the ECW brand I had a feeling it would be nothing like the old ECW by no stretch. Then the sci-fi channel takes it on and that didnt help matters either. Lets face ECW will never be like it was and actually I know this sounds bad but I hope it doesnt because I hate seeing Vince succeed.

It would look so much better if it wasn't held in such stark contrast to the real ECW. Crazy matches, technical wrestlers, believable and intriguing storylines, characters you could love, people to hate, people you love to hate. What does the new ECW have? Big Show vs Ric Flair one week, Big Show vs Undertaker the next. Call it WWE and give the show a more extreme sounding name. Then maybe people wouldn't judge it so harshly.

i do not mind Show his badass character is good but why have Flair and Taker who are not ECW come over you need to give a shot to ECW originals then people will belive it is ECW!
also why not film it in a small building near to where SD is being taped then it is not too expensive and will look lots better and can be more ECW like in front of a hardcore crowd!

Exactly I never look a Ric Flair or Taker and think of them as hardcore because thats not their style and they should not try and make that change now.

Simply Ridiculous, their telling Joey Styles not to be Joey Styles, I just will never understand things sometimes, but I guess it's better me not understanding them, since I don't.
