Thanks to PWInsider.Com for the following:
When ECW One Night Stand ended, the ECW contingent continued to celebrate Rob Van Dam's title victory for another 15-20 minutes. Celebrating were Tommy Dreamer, Paul Heyman, Justin Credible, Balls Mahoney, Bill Alfonso, Mikey Whipwreck, Jason Knight, Lou D'Angeli (Sign Guy Dudley/Lou E. Dangerously), The Big Show, Kurt Angle, and former TNA star Trinity, who it would appear will be part of the new ECW. Heyman gave Trinity a big kiss at one point. They closed off with Tommy Dreamer and Tazz raising Van Dam and Paul Heyman's hands. Everyone left, leaving Van Dam with Bill Alfonso. They shook hands and Alfonso departed. Van Dam then did a curtain call, circling the ring to say goodbye to the ringside fans.
There were a ton more fans inside the Hammerstein Ballroom this year, as they extended the rows from 12 seats last year to 20 seats each on the floor and also sold a ton of standing room tickets at $50 a pop.
Chuck Zito ("Oz") and former TNA personality Jonny Fairplay were both in attendance, watching the show from the crowd. Former ECW personality Lance Wright was also in attendance.
WWE was selling T-shirts for the ECW event and the ECW company, as well as new T-shirts for Sandman, Tommy Dreamer, Sabu, and Terry Funk.
The new ECW referee was former TNA ref Mike Posey.
There was no dark match prior to the PPV. Joey Styles got a huge pop when he came out briefly before the crowd to check out the announcing area.
-WWE has announced that the "Championship situation will be cleared up right when RAW goes on the air tonight" at 9PM. On WWE.com they are questioning if the pin by Paul Heyman was legal and just exactly how Vince will react. They have listed RVD as the WWE Champion and removed it from John Cena.
- Dave Scherer is reporting that as of last night the plan is for WWE to leave the belt on RVD and have him appear on RAW tonight as the champion. It is then said that John Cena will appear on ECW’s return television show tomorrow on Sci-Fi. This would lead to a WWE/ECW crossover to get the fans involved and back into the product. However, things could possibly change sometime today.
Terry Funk was busted open very badly according to WWE.com as he almost had to have a bit of minor surgery after his brutal match with Edge and Foley last night. There is no word on what Funk's future will be with ECW, but he is not expected to be a full-time competitor
Paul Heyman was said to have been very happy with the PPV last night and was having a good time backstage.
Speaking of Heyman, he is the head of the ECW creative team although everything must pass through Vince McMahon first.
John Cena was said to have been very upbeat and friendly backstage. One thing that sources always note is that Cena is very cool and laid back backstage and does whatever he is asked to do.
Triple H and Stephanie McMahon-Levesque were not at the show last night. Stephanie has been off the road for several weeks now as she will be having her baby in about a month.
