WWE just announced the following:
Rey Mysterio suspended for 30 days
In accordance with WWE’s Wellness Program, effective Wednesday, September 2, Oscar Gutierrez (Rey Mysterio) is suspended for 30 days for a violation of the company’s policy.
The reason behind his delayed suspension is because Rey Mysterio was scheduled to defend the WWE Intercontinental Championship against Dolph Ziggler at their Breaking Point pay-per-view next month.
Dolph Ziggler vs. Mike Knox vs. Finlay in a triple-threat match will air on tonight's edition of WWE Superstars where Ziggler will win the number one contendership to challenge for the title at Breaking Point.
The company delayed Mysterio's suspension to Wednesday, September 2nd so he can drop the title at next Tuesday's SmackDown taping from the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio. The word going around is he will drop the title to Ziggler who was heavily rumored to be going over at the pay-per-view next month.
