WWE Releases Scotty Goldman, Former Ring of Honor Star
In a move that is likely unconnected to the recent job cuts at the company, WWE announced today that SmackDown wrestler Scotty Goldman was released.
Scotty GoldmanOnly used a handful of times on television, Goldman had recently been relegated to an online video series on WWE.com called, What's Crackin'.
WWE posted the following statement online: "World Wrestling Entertainment has come to terms on the release of SmackDown Superstar Scotty Goldman (Scott Colton) as of February 20, 2009. WWE wishes Scott the best in all future endeavors."
Perhaps the 28 year old talent will find his way back to Ring of Honor where he initially made a name for himself as Colt Cabana. The company may welcome his presence with the new national TV deal with HDNet.
Prior to joining ROH and WWE, Goldman appeared on the short-lived MTV wrestling series Wrestling Society X as Matt Classic.
He had been with WWE since 2007.
