Mick Foley's deal with WWE expires on September 1st and he has stated that he doesn't believe he will re-sign after being unhappy with his new role as an announcer on Smackdown.
Wade Keller of PWTorch.com is reporting today that Foley has agreed to contractual terms with TNA, and he will debut with the company when he is contractually able to do so.
As we mentioned earlier, Foley's deal with WWE ends September 1st and TNA just recently taped their shows for the next three weeks, which means Foley's TNA debut could be at No Surrender on September 14th, unless there is a no-compete clause in his contract.
Try to have more on this story as it develops.

Mick Foley is a big icon in pro wrestling. For TNA to make a deal with him is big. As big as it is, I don't see TNA letting him make his first appearance till Bound for Glory. For him to do it at No Surrender is too soon IMO.
Something odd happened this week. I was actually watching Impact. First time in months, and one of the first things I saw was Abyss being a guest on Karen Angle's show. I didn't realize this untill I watch him on impact, that he is TNA's version of Mankind. In the end of it Abyss was ripping out his hair like Foley use to do in the WWE when he was Mankind. Both Abyss and Mankind are a lot alike IMO.
I think it's funny now Foley and Abyss will soon be working together.

This is great news for TNA. Mick Foley would be a great boost to TNA in any way, shape, or form. Lol, yeah, true about Mankind and Abyss. But remember, Mick Foley is a few characters, including the good old, "Cactus Jack". But yeah, as a senor for Abyss as Mankind could work. But, I would rather see Foley in the ring at times!

TNA has something on their website that seals the deal. Go ahead check it out for yourself, but they have a graphic on there of a smilely face surrounded by barwire next to that it has text that says " Have a nice day!" I even put my mouse cursor on the graphic, and saw "Foley" If anyone had any doubt about, doubt no longer. I didn't doubt it. I just wanted to wait to see something on the TNA website about it, and this graphic that is now on there is all I need!

UPDATE:
Nola Armstrong of the The Gillespie Agency, Inc. sent out the following press release:
Statement from Mick Foley on leaving WWE, his future with TNA Wrestling and other opportunities
September 3, 2008 - As of today, I am a free agent in the world of professional wrestling. I will always be grateful to WWE for affording me so many incredible opportunities over the past thirteen years, but feel the time is right to pursue other endeavors.
This move frees me up to participate in more film, television and voice roles, autograph sessions, speaking engagements, volunteer work, and will allow me the time to start work on a third novel, a fourth wrestling memoir and a new children's story.
Over the next few weeks I will be working with my management team at Braverman/Bloom Co., Inc. in pursuing a couple of unique investment opportunities.
I can confirm I have had discussions with TNA Wrestling and have come to a short-term agreement. I am very excited about the specifics of this agreement and the potential it holds

this is big news for TNA. and to a short time deal is a great way of TNA showcasing him in the right frame but not getting a stale impression of Foley on TV, kinda like Nash has become.
