If you have not seen it yet, Teddy Long has awarded Henry with a new designed ECW title. Its mostly silver and takes the previous titles colours down to one main colour, that being Silver Heres the pic: Notice there is NO barbwire in the ECW name, there is 'what appears to be' flames behind the ECW name and also the belt has the standard WWE logo on the main coverplate and belt plates

I don't understand the purpose to this championship. I never did in the WWE. To me the WWE brought in ECW for the tradition it has, or did have. I don't get why a new championship belt? They changed the ECW belt, but in the past 7 years of having it, the WWE has yet to make a new World Heavyweight belt. They still have the same belt from WCW. I suppose the World Heavyweight belt has more tradition than the old ECW belt ever had, and why make a belt silver? I like the old ECW belt over this ugly one!

The WWE didnt buy ECW for its tradition they brought it to use as a elevation for up and coming stars such as John Morrison, CM Punk ETC. And in my oppinion thats exactly what its done. The WWE need to make it clear that the old ECW is no more, it is now just a name and i think this is the reason for the new belt to try and divert away from the original ECW. Personally i like the new belt i never really liked the old one as i thought there was too much going on with it, too many colours and stuff. But yeah you can shoot me down but thats just how i see it

For whatever reason why they brought in ECW, shows they have too many superstars under contract. For them to do brand drafts every year also shows that. They took on too many employees, and championships by them buying WCW. One reason to why I wish Vince would had left WCW to die on it's own.
A big problem I have with WWE is them making money off of something they didn't create. I personally think if they want more people to watch their third brand show. Least they can do is create their own name for it. Yes, they created their own belt (Finally) but it still has the 3 letters "ECW" on it. In which in my mind ECW stands for "Exposed Cheap Wrestling"
One reason I like TNA over WWE. They have less championships. They don't have names of their championships/ppvs in which was used by other feds, and of course them being creative enough to have a six sided ring. Yes, I will admit to them using the NWA Championship, but then they saw to get rid of it. This shows TNA is way creative than WWE is, and way better.

i agree with DR. If they needed to showcase young stars on TV. Then why not use the defunct HEAT or Velocity shows? instead of riding the coat-tails of another show/company.
let those shows build up main status?

Heat, and Velocity didn't get much attention in which should have. Heat was better before the roster split. They had to create Velocity since RAW had it as their "B" show. WWE saw to get rid of both shows because both were shown during the weekend. Before the "Monday Night War" wrestling on the weekend was better, but since it broke out, even WCW had it with "WCW Saturday Night" weekend wrestling took a nose dive. It's hard for WWE to have a third show. During the week, the only day that don't have any wrestling show on between WWE, and TNA is Wednesday. They need to get rid of their third show, and consider having a show on Thursday to compete with TNA Impact.
TNA has no problem letting thier young talent on Impact. WWE don't need any special show to let the young talent shine on. They just need to let them shine on RAW, and SmackDown. Forget a third show. It wont matter who they put on the roster for ECW, it wont change. WWE putting on 4 hours of wrestling a week is enough. WWE can't expect people to sit in front of their TVs watching their shows every night, when there is better programing on to watch.
However. If the WWE must have a third show, and have to have ECW. What will help the ratings is by them making a deal with USA to show ECW before or after RAW. They have to give people the freedom to watch other programing on more nights. That is my honest opinion on the matter!

I agree 1000%!!! WWE should re-launch "Heat". Have their own "Heat" Champion, & Tag Champs. And use the tag-line... "WWE HEAT!!! WHERE TOMORROW'S SUPER-STARS ARE BORN!!!" THAT, would play a MILLION times better than using the legacy that Heyman created with the "ORIGINAL" ECW!!! Cus Vinnie-Mac & Co. know d@amned well, that the only things still remaining from the original ECW, are those Three letters & Tommy Dreamer!!! Let the show be, what they've actually turned it into. A "New Talent" show-case/proving-grounds. Retire the belt, AND Brand with Dreamer. Than, name HIM "Heat General Manager" Just MY opinion. Hey, F.Y.I. Japan's Dragon Gate promotion, is coming to America!!! Philly 7/25 Chicago area 9/6 Premiere PPV= "Enter The Dragon" on 9/4 If ya guys like Ring Of Honor??? Than you'll won't to check these guys out!!! -BDE
