What did/do you think about Paul Heyman?
Paul Heyman gets a lot of respect for what he accomplished in making such a great Wrestling League they once called ECW. Really incredible what he did and how much heart and desire he put into it. He road it as strong as he could even until the last day.
Tommy Dreamer seemed to really help Heyman throughout the years keep ECW alive so he gets a lot of respect too.
Don't really know how or understand how Vince and Paul have had such a good relationship. Vince's only real friends in my eyes may be Paul and Triple H.
Wish it was on now a days, I'd watch it as much or more than the WWE.

Well Vince had a working arangment with ECW.
Heyman was allowed to sell WWF Merchendise to help suplement the income from the actual show.
Vince also funuled cash to ECW to try and help it and he promoted it on his show (the original ECW Invasion) and tried to help it stay on TNN.
I have alwasy belived that the anamosity between WWF and WCW was not so much Vince against the WCW as it was Vince against Ted Turner and vie sa versa.
(In fact according to Th Monday Night War DVD Eric Bischoff himself had not wanted to try and compeat with WWF in the 1990's it had been Ted's Idea.)
But on Topic I agree.
Much respect to Paul Heyman and Tommy Dreamer as well as Tod Gordon Heymans original partner in EASTERN Championship Wrestling.

If ECW was still around, that'd probably be one o' the wrestling companies I'd want to work for. Sure, Paul was an OCD kinda guy, but I think that's what you really need to be in order to be successful. Look at what people say about how controlling/dominating Vince McMahon is. Paul Heyman deserves respect for the fact that, with all his heart, he kept ECW alive for two years short of a decade. You can't do that without some sense of what the fans want to see. He's a wrestling genius, one of very few in the business, and he deserves all the praise in the world for what he contributed. Without him...who knows what the WWE would be like, or the wrestling world in general. We certainly wouldn't have that chant that echoes through buildings to this day like a ghost that just won't go away: "E-C-W! E-C-W! E-C-W! E-C-W! E-C-W!" "ECW was a lifestyle; it was anti-establishment; it was counterculture; and it was UP IN YOUR FACE!" -former ECW owner, Paul Heyman

Still wish and suprised nobody has brought an ECW like league back. You would think Heyman and other Wrestlers might have the money to do it. Jarrett helped start TNA. Why not somebody with ECW?

Actually, TNA is still losing a TON of money. Hopefully, with the action figures, dvd's and upcoming video game, they can start making money. No wrestler would have the kind of money to compete with McMahon. If Turner hadn't of been such a greedy bugger, he might still own WCW today. Still wish and suprised nobody has brought an ECW like league back. You would think Heyman and other Wrestlers might have the money to do it. Jarrett helped start TNA. Why not somebody with ECW?

Really, didn't know TNA wasn't making money. Well hopefully they keep growing (or surviving?).
Sure miss the days of WCW, wish it and ECW were still around, so much better than current WWE.

I would love it, if Heyman went to TNA. I can't believe Vinnie Mac was so blind as not to see the ratings go up, when Heyman was help writing.

Heyman was certainly and still is a great wrestling promoter and the things he pulled off with the old ECW was really a,azing considering his competetion was the WCW and WWF the two titans at the time. I have a great respect for Heyman and his passion he has for his work in ECW and the wrestling business in general is unparallaled.
