Hey, I got this from Wrestling News World and I’m not sure what it’s all about, but I can’t wait to find out. I mean, an ECW ppv? I just can’t imagine how it would all go down. Would it be good or would it be bad? Who would be on the card? Like, I dunno... I’ve read in a couple wrestling magazines where the columnists think that the WWE should or is thinking about starting an ECW brand, something of that sort and now that I see this about the ppv, I don’t think that they are as insane as I thought they were when I read that stuff, but whether or not that is a good thing or a bad thing, I don’t know, lol. What do you guys think of the ppv and does anybody have a clue what’s behind it all?

Theory behind it is the continued success of the WWE produced DVD 'The rise and fall of ECW' which has sold way more than WWE ever expected. They reckon if fans will pay for the DVD they will pay for a PPV. To me it's not that simple though. While they do have a host of ECW names under contract now they are without an awfull lot of talent that made ECW what it was. Also WWE throughout its 'attitude' era basically stole ECW ideas. Now they are on there own and having to produce what will be a one off event i just can't see it being other than a few Smackdown vs Raw matches under the title of ECW. It won't have the excitement or unpredictability of an ECW event.

that would be nice. the old ecw was only second to ELW. I had a friend who use to film ecw, and then he started working for another co., i forget the name of the other co. but it was pretty brutal. they had weed wacker matches, people getting powerbombed onto a sheet of wood with light bulbs on it. the light bulbs were nuts the one guys elbow got cut right down to the bone, and at the end of the tape they show the guy getting stiches on his elbow.

That's what I was thinking. I don't know how they're going to pull it off. It would be cool if they could, but I just don't see how they're going to do it and not screw everything up. It won't be the same, however they go about doing it though. WWE is not ECW and that's about all there is to that. But maybe it'll still be fun to watch, lol!

Well if it's only a "One-shot" deal and it's ran by WWE than I say it's no good.
I wish Paul Hayman saved enough money from working in the WWE and could have another push at ECW, also he would need a backer with a good amount of money. I would say Ted Turner but I don't think the Hardcore ECW is his style.
There are still original ECW Wrestlers that aren't signed to a magor company, but the best ones like: Raven, Franchise, Sandman, and Sabu are in TNA so ECW could never get them.
But people like Tommy Dreamer, Mike Awesome, Rhino, 2 Cold Scorpio, Lance Storm, Justin Credible, Angry Amish, Blue Meanie, New Jack, Francine, and others would be a step in the right direction in signing some of the orginals. I don't watch WWE but I don't think they are wrestling for them.

New Jack was 'apparently' in talks to join on a short term deal but that looks more like speculation than anything else. Scorpio is signed to a long deal with Pro Wrestling NOAH in Japan where he is tag champion at the minute.Blue Meanie owns 3PW and is held in good opinion by the McMahons so he is a possibility. If WWE hasn't signed Francine by now they never will. Roadkill is a head security guard at a Wall Mart!

Surprised Dreamer, Storm, and Justin would want to retire or simply not wrestle anymore, I don't think their to old either. Sabu last I heard was signed in TNA. That guy was a warrior, it's a wonder how is body has held up so strong. Glad 2 Cold Scorpio is still doing good. Ya surprised WWE or WCW never signed Francine all those years, it must be personal, it's a shame, I'd hangout with Francine

Sabu was in hospital for 7 weeks last year and a group of guys held a benefit show for him as a lot of his money was lost paying the hospital bills. I'd hangout with Francine too God i miss her!

Thanks for the ECW updates, I always enjoy hearing where and how Wrestlers are now. Glad Dreamer and Storm are still around Wrestling since they enjoy it, still a little surprised their both not in the ring somewhere still though. Geez if Flair and others his age are still Wrestling, or trying to, lol. That's ashame Sabu got hurt so bad, do you know what happened? He really had no insurance, I figure if your a Wrestler that's a must.

All i know is he was in hospital with back problems then caught some sort of virus and he was in for a total of 7 weeks. At his benefit show [which all the wrestlers worked free of charge] were Mick Foley,Raven,Shane Douglas,Jeff Hardy,D-Lo Brown,ICP and a lot more.
