The Miami Dolphins signed 7 year and 3 time pro bowl QB Dante Culpepper in exchange for a 2006 2nd round (19th round, 51st pick) draft pick.

Not bad for only a 2nd round draft pick, lol, but it's the contract that will be the big deal. Considering how much Culpepper will probably get paid considering he is coming off an injury and really had a bad season even before he got hurt it is a high risk, but when your the Dolphins you have nothing to lose, lol. It just looked like Culpepper was nothing without Moss, then again Moss can make any QB look great, but that's not what the Dolphins are trying to believe. Randel Cunningham sure looked good when he threw to Moss.

If Dante plays like he did a few years ago, it's a steal for Miami. If he falls into the same play he did the last couple of years, Minnesota may end up being geniuses.

The only thing with Culpepper is the injury and how he responds to the contact. Their line will have to really block well because when Culpepper goes down so does the Dolphins. But if Culpepper plays to his potential and stays injury free he'll be a force in the East no question about it.

Well basically Miami stinks every year and never makes the playoffs, so it was definitly worth a gamble for them considering they have nothing to lose. Geez, remember just a few years ago they gave former Eagles QB AJ Feely a nice contract and thought he was the future for them, that sure ended quick, lol, what were they thinking, so they deserve to be stinky for doing something that stupid, lol.

Miami can be dangerous....both to the rest of the league and to themselves. If the teams gels, it can make a serious run at the AFC East title. But if recent history continues, the Miami late-season implosion may be just as bad as the impending Bledsoe-Parcells-Owens bomb.

I really don't see that many great players on Miami anymore and never have to tell you the truth. Only one or two here and there (Ricky Williams a few years and Chris Chambers). So I never took them serious or as a threat. Have they every made it to the playoffs since Dan Marino even? Lol. But that is actually the biggest problem, they haven't had a solid QB since Marino and with Culpepper that could change. Chris Chambers is a good WR in need of a good QB too.

Miami really is and has been short on impressive talent. They do have some good players but in a divison with teams who really go after each other with intensity you need more than just good players. I believe thats the Bills problem at the same time they have a good team and compared to the Patriots with exception to last season is really apples and oranges with the Patriots having the better talent hands down.
