Martel was a excellent talent and IMO has always been underated! He had a great run as AWA champ and some good matches throughout his career!

underrated overall as a wrestler.
That "Model" gimmick made him overrated.

I think he was underated. And actually, I liked him best as "The Model". I thought it was a great gimmick being so cocky and arrogant. I like his cologne too, "Arrogance"!!! Great stuff back then no doubt!!! Lol.

He was underated. Funny how Wrestlemania and that yellow POS killed the AWA and NWA. The AWA did great buisness till 85 and then fell on it's face. His title run was a big boost for them.
