Who was your favorite WCCW Wrestler?
World Class withdrew from NWA and formed World Class Championship Wrestling Association in February of 1986 through 1991.
I have to go with the "Dingo Warrior", I think he was better in WCCW then in the WWF when he was the "Ultimate Warrior". When he went to the WWF he became to commercial and just wasn't the same.
Rick Rude was tight and smooth too.

I pick Black Bart because he was way ahead of his time. As the only African American in WCCW at the time, it must have been hard.

Lol, I give you respect for giving him respect if that was the case with Black Bart. He was actually a Cowboy though and could be seen even around the "Mill Creek" and "Bandbox" I believe.

-- I chose Kevin Von Erich, Kevin was X-division literally decades before there was a term known as "X-division".
Rick Rude was another WCCW star who could really put on a good match, and it's funny too - he was a rookie back then, started in 1983 in Mid-South and moved down to WCCW in '85 before signing with Vince. A 2yr pro putting on solid matches, Rude was a hell of star too.

It was always a pretty cool match when "Slick" Rick was in it, he always put on a good show.

HOWEVER, he didn't gain a following until he wrestled for Watts, that's when his breaks started.

I always liked Iceman King Parsons. His hair was awesome & he was saying "raggedy old rooty-poot" LONG before The Rock was. Anyone know what he's been up to lately?

Man .the World Class days...one of many regional territories with hopes of becoming a major national force. They almost did it too with having ESPN coverage on an almost everyday basis.A lot of present day bookers could learn a lot from those storylines.I could never pick a definative favorite, but I have to cast at least one write in vote. And thats for Gino Hernandez. One of the most "over" heels I ever saw.He was on his way to being the focal point of the company ,and at least for a while,he was THE heel .His team with Chris Adams and feud with the Von Erichs are the stuff of legend in Texas wrestling.I wont pick the Von Erichs because they were the mainstays and were always in the main events. The only ones who were truly great workers were Kevin and David. So in a way,the heels were the ones you had to rely on to get the goods out of some of the Von Erichs. The Freebirds were a tremendous team everywhere they went, and even though they were cast as heels for the Von Erichs, they were getting over as heels who were cool to cheer for. They had to be turned face at one point for fear that they may overtake the Von Erics spotlight.Another guy who generated both tremendous heel heat and then turned face to become one of the most unlikely ,yet over, charcters on TV was Eric Embry. He was one of the very few exceptions that actually had the chance to outshine the Von Erichs. The fans really took to him and he became the heart and soul of the latter day WCCW into USWA days.A great worker back in those days too....unfortunately his career would be cut short in 1993 by a car accident, and he never really got the chance to shine in a major national company. To his credit .just before the car accident ,he was still active and playing a major role as a heel for the then soley- Memphis based USWA.I could go on for hours about my WCCW memories, they were a truly intregal part of the 1980s wrestling scene.

Its hard not to vote for Bruiser Brody but the Freebirds,Iceman Parsons and One Man Gang were at thier complete best in WCCW.
