DEVELOPING STORY: Actor Owen Wilson reportedly was hospitalized Sunday afternoon in Santa Monica, Calif., after being treated at his home by EMTs, according to the National Enquirer and Star magazine.
The tabloid publications claim Wilson was transported by ambulance to St. John’s Health Center after cutting his left wrist and taking an undetermined number of pills.
The entertainment news Web site TMZ.com late Sunday reported that it had confirmed Owens had been taken to the hospital, but could not confirm his injuries or condition. The Web site published a statement attributed to the Santa Monica Police:
"On Sunday, Aug. 26, 2007, at 12:10 p.m., officers from the Santa Monica Police Department responded to a medical assistance call from the Santa Monica Fire Department at the 900 block of 23rd Street. The person was transported to a local hospital where they are being treated."
TMZ.com reported that the 911 call came in to the Los Angeles Fire Department at 11:59 a.m.
Wilson was discovered at his home by a family member who made the 911 call for help, the tabloids reported.

This is sad and a big shock to me. I like Owen and am surprised he'd do this considering he always looks so happy on the screen as well as he's doing great with his acting career. I'm surprised, and it's ashame.

wow yeh that is a huge shock, i guess show business just got too much for him Hope he can pull threw this and carry on been the great actor he is! Maybe the show business got too much for him. But I think more so (and heard) that he may be Bi-Polar or CCD "Chronic Clinical Depression", so I think that is the cause of it. But I agree with you Trish, I'll think he'll overcome it, he's come too far not to.
