Ali G News: Borat’s Kazakhstan Website Shut Down

“Da Ali G Show” star Sacha Baron Cohen, who has angered many with his sexist Kazakh characer Borat, was ordered to shut down a website hosted on a Kazakhstan domain.
Borat, one of the characters on the comedy show, is an oversexed, anti-Semitic Kazakh reporter known for making politically insensitive comments. In November, Cohen hosted the MTV Europe Awards as Borat and talked about shooting dogs for recreation and claiming his wife could not leave Kazakhstan since she’s female.
Responding to a lawsuit threat, Cohen - as Borat - wrote on borat.kz, “I have no connection to Mr. Cohen and fully support my government’s position to sue this Jew.
“Please, captain of industry, I invite you to come to Kazakhstan, where we have incredible natural resources, hard working labor and some of the cleanest prostitutes in all of Central Asia.”
The Association of Kazakh IT Companies confirmed that its shutting the website down.
“We’ve done this so he can’t badmouth Kazakhstan under the .kz domain name,” said the Association’s president. “He can go and do whatever he wants at other domains.”
Cohen also violated the rules of the .kz domain, which include registering under false names and operating two servers.
