Ali G was first popular over here in the UK, there was even a film made, which wasn't that good really.
The Borat character is the best I think.

I heard he is filming a movie that will be all Borat. "High Five", lol. Ya, I believed he had a good amount of seasons and shows over in the UK? I picked up 3 "Best Of" tapes of his show from England a year ago. They were pretty good, epecially the Boart of course, but they had canned laughter on the tapes, didn't like or understand why. I have his movie too, "In Da House". I actually thought the movie was pretty good. So is Ali G still big in the UK and how were his shows there?

Canned laughter is used alot on UK shows, I know in the US they are usually filmed in front of live audiences which is much better.
As for the Ali G shows, they were good, mostly for a teenage audience. He no longer is even on UK television but when he was then his show was very popular.
I prefer Only Fools & Horses, Steptoe and Son, Red Dwarf etc. which are if you are a comedy fan, well worth checking out.
