I just watched the Starrcade 97 match between Hogan and Sting and I feel Hogan was screwed in that match. It was believed that the count was fast against Sting but after watching the count it seemed no faster than any other count of the night. I just wondered what everyone elses opinion was.

I think WCW screwed itself and everybody else by not having Sting go over clean. I'm assuming they thought having a controversial finish would be a great way to extend the program another couple of months and get some more mileage out of it for ratings and buyrates, but I think this match for all intents and purposes marked the beginning of their fall from grace, even if it didn't start to show financially until 1999, because they didn't give the people what they had been clamoring to see for over a year, and that was to have Sting beat the tar out of Hogan and put an end to the nWo. Instead, they continued to drag the nWo storyline through the mud and people eventually started changing the channel because the WWF was presenting a fresh and more interesting product.

i have this match and like it but sting should have gone over cleanly imo Yeah I agree the way they hyped his return and then have him win that way really confused me . I will admit I pulled for Hogan but I expected Sting to win but with a win that was straight up clean.
