He was one of the greatest announcers in the history of our sport! Are you crazy? He's far from the greatest.

I wouldnt say the greatest by any means IMO that goes to Gordon Solie. Tony was a very good announcer who was kept from his potential but by no means the greatest.

Are you crazy? He's far from the greatest. *shakes head* I guess you didn't catch my sarcasm. Remember how Schiavone would take any random event, and say This episode of Thunder has been the greatest night in the history of our sport!!!!! When in reality, the main event of the card was like Hugh Morrus and The Barbarian vs Public Enemy.

Very true, Tim. But when Bischoff books that card and then tells you thru the headset that you need to make it sound like the greatest night in history....what can you expect??

Loved him and still do.
Possibly my favourite commentator ever (bar heel colour commentators like Jesse and Bobby)...

I liked listening to Tony on NItro and Thunder in the mid 1990's through the end of WCW. I remember the whole Mick Foley incident where he said Foley would win the title that ruined it for WCW.

I always liked Tony on commentary. To me he was the voice of the JCP-era NWA. When I think of a 4 Horsemen match it is Tony's voice I hear in my head. Unfortunately, the last few years of his WCW commentary, constantly trying to put over WCW's lame angles & constant changes in booking direction as "the greatest night in wrestling history" really destroyed his reputation as a wrestling broadcaster.

Tony was an okay announcer, I think he worked well with Jesse both in WWF and WCW.
