That's kinda why I only believe in the Observer's HOF. It's impartial and doesn't follow company favorites.

It was one sexy Hall Of Fame while it lasted, the only bloke who shouldnt be there is Angelo Poffo, but ah well. Could be worse, could be a baseball player...

WCW was really a great company and produced some of wrestlings biggest names ever. WWF although was great as well WCW fine tuned many of the WWF wrestlers. Ric Flair (NWA/WCW) Arn Anderson/Tully Blanchard (Brainbusters in the WWF) Barry Windham Chris Jericho Chris Benoit Eddie Guerreo (RIP) Rey Mysterio and many others. The WWF was a federation that was money driven from the beginning or atleast more so than NWA/WCW. The NWA was a small organization that worked its way up the ladder and led the Monday night wars as WCW for along time.

The thing that was awesome about the WCW Hall of Fame was that it crossed all organizations and wasn't limited to those that just worked or wrestled for WCW. Obviously, Lou Thesz, Verne Gagne, and many of the other people in the HoF retired long before WCW even came into existence and thus never spent any time there.
I admit that I miss WCW, but it was only great (meaning successful) for a very limited period of time. The only real star that it produced (as WCW, not NWA or Jim Crockett Promotions) was Goldberg. During it's "heyday", they mainly pushed the guys who had already made a name for themselves in the WWF and the talent that they did at least give a CHANCE to shine on an international platform like Jericho, Benoit, Mysterio, and others, were never allowed to make it past the mid-card level until they eventually came to WWE (and while Benoit DID win the WCW title, it was only due to the fact that they were trying to get him to stay when he wanted to leave, which he did anyway)
And Turner didn't really start investing money into WCW until Bischoff was placed at the helm and convinced him to start opening up his pocketbook. Before the mid-90s, it was basically just a tax write-off for him. The main reason he bought Crockett Promotions was to keep the NWA on TBS because it was the top show and because wrestling in general essentially helped build his empire. Other than that, I don't think he really cared whether it made money or not.

The only real star that it produced (as WCW, not NWA or Jim Crockett Promotions) was Goldberg. You make some good points overall Dan. That is true and I was thinking the same thing how it was cool that they were able to simply include Wrestlers (or Wrestling related people) who did a lot for the sport in different Wrestling Leagues. It's ashame the AWA or NWA didn't have a HOF or they wouldn't of had too. Angelo Poffo really did a lot for the sport if you read up on him Warrior. ICW was a great promotion that he lead which had many of the top Wrestlers in it including Randy Savage and Lanny Poffo. Angelo was also a great manager when he managed Randy and Lanny. He was similar to Bobby Heenan (he did whatever it took to win a match). I'm lucky enough to have some of it on tape. Oh, and Dan, you forgot, WCW produced 2 superstar, the other one being the 3-Time Champ, the "Cat". Lol.

The HoF ceremony was part of the Legends Reunion format they did at Slamboree. From what I understand, the main reason they stopped doing it was because it was getting very difficult to put together due to egos and things of that nature. Besides, I'm also thinking they figured why bother to do an old timers reunion when the company's everyday roster was already full of them .
