WCW in my Oppinion only ever realy managed to create a Handfull of Stars in there own right. Goldberg The Giant (The Big Show) Chavo Guerrero (or at leasts started the process) Ernest Miller Big Van Vader Sting. Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard etc were all NWA made stars. Dont forget Jericho, Eddie Guerrero, and rey mysterio were all pretty successful wrestlers out of WCW as well and all have had some success in the WWE. Mysterio won the Royal Rumble, Eddie was a champion, as was Jericho who went through the Rock and Austin in the same night to win the tilte. I feel sometimes alot of the WCW superstars were overlooked and underestimated as good or possibly a future success because Vince and the money in the WWE. WCW IMO had just as much talent as WWE Scott Steiner could have beat any former champ in WWE, Goldberg proved it, Giant caome to WWE and has had success, Then there are the ones who got taken away because the greed of Vince. Rick Steiner, Sting is not out there near as much, Norman Smiley very funny and entertaining, Meng, Kevin Nash yeah a short return to WWE but no doubt if WCW was still around hed be there, Saturn, and others. Its really dissappointing to me Vince took away such a good organization of talent who are now either jobless or on a lower tier of wrestling.

World Championship Wrestling, Inc. (originally called Universal Wrestling Corp.) was actually formed in 1988 as part of the deal where Turner Broadcasting bought Jim Crockett Promotions. Even though they didn't start labeling the titles as WCW until December 1990 or Janaury 1991, the World Championship Wrestling name and WCW logo was in effect long before then and was used at the same time they were still calling it the NWA.

Actually if memory serves correct, the World Championship Wrestling name was created by Ole Anderson (he mentioned it in his book) and was used for Georgia Championship Wrestling in the 70s. As for WCW making Sting a star, he was already there. His 1 hr draw with Flair at the 1st Clash Of The Champions proved that. WCW made him a world champion. It wasn't Vince's greed that took Jericho, Benoit & Eddie away. It was the fact that Bischoff didn't know how to use them and was undermining their careers. Vince gave them an opportunity at a fresh start. And they took it..........and thrived!!

Actually if memory serves correct, the World Championship Wrestling name was created by Ole Anderson (he mentioned it in his book) and was used for Georgia Championship Wrestling in the 70s. Georgia Championship Wrestling began to be called World Championship Wrestling on TBS in the early 80s (although the actual corporate name remained Georgia Championship Wrestling, Inc.). Vince McMahon bought control of GCW, Inc in 1984 and took over the show on TBS. In 1985, he sold his TBS time to Jim Crockett Promotions, which continued calling the show World Championship Wrestling. When Crockett sold to Turner in 1988, a new corporation was formed in the deal called Universal Wrestling Corp. It was renamed World Championship Wrestling, Inc. shortly thereafter, along with the introduction of the WCW logo, and that's when the name began to be used in reference to the company as a whole as opposed to just the name of the show on TBS. They still called it the NWA, but they also started making mention of World Championship Wrestling and Jim Herd was always billed as WCW Exec. Vice Pres. If you have the Ric Flair DVD set, watch disc 2; both NWA and World Championship Wrestling are used. By Dec. 1990 or Jan. 1991, references to the NWA ceased completely and WCW became the only name used by the promotion. So I was just pointing out that World Championship Wrestling was not formed in January 1991 because even though that's approximately around the time they began labeling the titles as WCW, the name was being used in reference to the promotion long before then.

I have to say one of my favorite memories of WCW was when Miss Elizabeth made her return to wrestling after almost being gone for 4 years in January 1996 at the Clash of Champions in the corner of Randy Savage and Hulk Hogan who also had Kevin Greene in their corner. I had missed her so much in wrestling and was so happy when she came back. I was also shocked when she joined Ric Flair after turning on Randy at Superbrawl 6 in February 1996, I wasn't expecting that one! Also when Hogan joined WCW in 1994 was a big shocker and when Randy Savage came later that same year was as well!!

Favorite WCW memory for me was when Savage beat Flair for the WCW title at the Clash Of The Champions...only because I was there 2nd row ringside to watch it happen!
