I've heard about this place a few times when reading about WWWF and pre-Hulkamaina days of the WWE.
Mainly about the event called Showdown at Shea
But what I want to know is.
1. Where in America is it?
2. Is it still open/standing?
3. Dose WWE Still use it?
4. If not is there a resson?
Thanks in adance for any help with these Questions

1. Its in New York City. 2. Yes, its still there. Its the official staduim of the New York Mets baseball team (on a side note- Yankee Stadium is home to, obviously, the New York Yankees 3.The WWE hasn't used it in years. They mainly put on shows at Madison Square Garden when they are in New York. 4. I don't know why, actually.

Well Shea is an open Stadium, I don't think they do many shows in the outside as much as they used to in Wrestling. I liked the tradition of having a few events every year outside. I think it has lessened over the years. I think Wrestlemania III was outside. That had the famous Piper vs Adonis "Haircut Match". Not sure where it was though?
I never went to a Wrestling Event there. But like 8 years ago I went to a New York Mets game. Wasn't bad.

Wrestlmainia 3 was at the Pontiac Silverdome.
I rememmber because Hercules Hernandez mentions it in his promo before his match against Billy Jack Haynes which I liked and think it was one of his best promos.

Well, WWF did have Wrestlemania outside in Las Vegas a few years ago. There was also that show in Milwaukee they did circa 1988, where Hogan faced Andre in the cage match.
WCW also did outdoor TV tapings from time to time...occasionally WCW Saturday Night, and that whole string of WCW Monday Nitros in the summer of '96 that were outside.
