According to WWE.com, Lillian Ellison, known to wrestling fans around the world as "The Fabulous Moolah" passed away in her home in Columbia, SC, last night; she was 84. She was home recovering from eye replacement surgery and shoulder surgery. From the 1950's throughout the 1980's Moolah dominated women's wrestling as a champion, and booker. Moolah was the most famous women's wrestler of all time, and a WWE Hall of Famer.

Moolah was truly one of the greats. Although she did so many great things in her career as Slave Girl Moolah and then the Fabulous one, when I started watching wrestling, she was feuding with yet another accomplished lady wrestler who has since passed on, Sherri Martel. RIP Moolah.
