Had these two met in the 80s which seemed to be a deal for Brett Hart how he felt Hogan had ducked him at the time who do you feel would have been the better of the two? I know Hogans popularity trumped Harts by a mile but in terms of matches who do you believe could have carried the torch better?

I agree Hart was the better inring performer as far as wrestling but mic skills had to go to Hulk. Brett was kinda bland outside the ring IMO.

Hogan ducked him in the '80s? He was a tag team wrestler and Hogan was busy with giants like Andre, Kamala, King Kong Bundy, and Killer Khan, as well as big tough guys like Hercules, Paul Orndorff, Nikolai Volkoff, and Magnificent Muraco. Hogan vs. Bret might have been a good match for Saturday Night's Main Event, as was Bret's match with Randy Savage, but I doubt Hogan would lose in any scenario. Bret was better in the ring, but Hogan's shadow loomed quite large at the time.

Lol, come on Scotty, what are you doing here? Hope your turning "Pro" Brett on me, brother!!! As 80s said, Brett was only a Tag-Team Champion at best. It wasn't until Hogan, Randy Savage, Andre, etc. all left that Vince was forced to make a mediocore Wrestler the next Champion. Hulk and the rest of the "real" Wrestlers back then, were worlds ahead of Brett (and Shawn Michaels).

I've tried so hard to like Bret as champion, and it was a little refreshing at first to not see a musclehead or one-dimensional villain hold the title, but by the fall of 1993, I was kinda hoping they wouldn't give Bret another title run for awhile. To be honest, I was much more enthralled with Lex Luger chasing the belt than Bret. And I'm no big Lex fan, but his surprise face turn aboard the USS Intrepid was intriguing. Bret as Intercontinental Champion during any period after 1988 I could buy. World Champ? I don't know. Iceman has a good point.

Yeah I didnt care much for Brett as champion and I thought Brett had some skills but IMO he was boring so I never could get into him.

True, 3rd Hary, but you started watching after the era of the musclehead was gone. Bret turned a lot of heads as a tag team guy. Some of the wrestling magazines would refer to him as the hero of the underground. If you can, you should check out Bret's tag team battles with The British Bulldogs, The Killer Bees, and later the Rockers, even The Young Stallions, Demolition, and The Rougeau Brothers. It was definitely different than watching Hogan brawl with a gargoyle in the main event.

bret is a wrestler, where Hogan was much more of a brawler, i think Bret would of easily beaten him by far
