According to reports, TNA President Dixie Carter is giving many people the impression within TNA that the company is finally turning a profit and that even some flat Thursday night ratings in the last week or so aren't a huge concern to her.
Since TNA iMPACT! has moved to Thursday night, the show has averaged at least a 1.0 cable rating and viewership of the product is up 20% from the previous Saturday night timeslot (which is now when the show replays). Carter hasn't been given any indications from Spike TV that TNA's current TV deal is in jeopardy of being cancelled or not at least renewed through the end of the year.
It should be noted that Spike TV has continued to be impressed with the demographic performance of TNA for quite a while now, especially with last week's show drawing a 1.0 rating in both the 18-49 year old and 18-34 year old demographics. Although the overall viewership is important to docomeent and analyze, Spike TV often first worries about the demographics they are trying to hit and according to sources, TNA has far exceeded their expectations. With TNA delivering better target demographic ratings for Spike than most programs during the week, the network doesn't have much to complain about. However, it should be noted that Spike TV keeps a very close eye on the program and would like to see a ratings improvement after the NBA Playoffs end.

TNA needs to make a profit if they want to compete with WWE.

Nice, sounds like TNA is starting to get there. Moving to Thursday was definitely a good move. Now if they made the show earlier it would even be a better move and even more ratings, isn't it obvious? Lol. Don't they know the WWE starts at 8PM and all other Wrestling used to also? People are used to watching Wrestling then. Lol, I don't get it.

Why bother giving that slot to a new show when you cna give it to proven show. TNA needs to eanr and rpvoe they can get that slot first before the company will give it them

They have already proven it enough Simon (TNA has been around for 4 years or so), basically any Wrestling show would get the most ratings during any hour too ya know, lol. Also you have to think that Wrestling has a lot of younger fans that cann't stay up btwn 11PM-12AM on a weeknight (school night). Why Ulimate Fighter tends to have a slighter older crowd, so it really all makes sense too. Don't ya think Simon? Lol.

Not really so what they have been around for 4 years not long in business tuerms and they are only now turning a profit. I know lots of other wrestling companies with out TV deals that have been around longer. It still has to prove it can make it on the TV to a major TV company. Why should they move a show thats doing well in a timeslot tha already has a fan base and is known for that time slot for a relativly new show
