How would you guys compare the first five editions of The Survivor Series to each other? After all, there were no titles at stake, lower-card guys got big-time positions, women were even featured at times, and new feuds could be instantaneously created.
Personally, no Survivor Series ever matched the first one for me. 1988's (the second one) started off really well, but the card started slipping right after the first match. 1989 was ruined for me, mostly because of Zeus and a number of significant substitutions. Also, the final moment of the show featured a wrestler in the ring squaring off against a manager (Ultimate Warrior vs. Bobby "The Brain" Heenan). Nothing against Heenan, he's awesome, but I found that anti-climactic. 1990 showed some promise with the Grand Finale Match, but that stupid stunt with the giant egg kinda killed the credibility for me. 1991 rebounded a bit with Piper - Flair and Hogan - Undertaker, but a lot of damage had been done in previous years.
Anyway, that's just what I think. I might be off-base, so I appreciate some board members' input.

No, you're right. The 87 Survivor Series was the best. Culminating in Andre, not Hogan winning the Series main event leading to the infamous Main Event match with Hogan's shoulder up. 87 series was superb in comparison to the rest. The tag-team series match that started the series was great.

Yeah, it's quite true. When Andre and Bigelow were there in the end and not Hogan, I realized, "Holy crap! We're seeing something special here!"
