Clearly he wasn't, but oddly enough one of the WWE lead headlines on WWE.com states the following:

The article goes onto to describe the match RVD had with Randy Orton and that he was taken to the hospital afterwards. This could be WWE's way of writing RVD out of WWE. RVD did win the match and it's almost as if they are leaving the door open for his return by allowing him to go out a winner?
But the fact that WWE would have a headline like above is pretty vile.
