What are your top 3 favorite pay-per-view events of the classic era? In this case, I'm referring to 1992 and before. My top 3...
1. Survivor Series 1990
2. Wrestlemania VI
3. Wrestlemania III

Kudos to Old Schooler who remembers Super Clash III. From Jerry Lawler vs. Kerry Von Erich to Eric Embry vs. Jeff Jarrett, that was cool. Too bad not many people saw it, except when they aired matches on free TV.
I'd have to say:
1) WrestleMania III 2) Survivor Series '87 3) tie between Summer Slam '88 and Royal Rumble '89
Rumble '89's undercard was nothing special (but I remember watching it with my dad on closed circuit TV - Canada did not have pay-per-view at the time - and getting goosebumps when Harley Race dumped King Haku off of his throne to start the match), but the Rumble itself made wrestling history. The one from the year before on USA was cool, but this one marked a new era in matchmaking. I got to see Demolition fight each other, Andre the Giant eliminate himself, the MegaPowers begin to crumble, Big John Studd make a triumphant return - all in one match. Talk about getting your money's worth.
Those are my W.W.F. picks. If I had to start thinking N.W.A. pay-per-views, it would get a lot tougher because there were so many good ones with the likes of Race, Steamboat, Flair, Funk, and Stinger.

Glad no one said Halloween Havoc '92. Probably the worst pay-per-view I'd ever seen this side of the Bunkhouse Stampede of January '88. Of course, when Hogan joined W.C.W., you could choose from a menu of stinkers.

Halloween Havoc was pretty bad. I also thought Bash at the Beach was pretty bad to.
