Hulk Hogan vs John Cena by Jack Windham February 17, 2009
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
WWE is currently working on setting up a big money match at Wrestlemania between John Cena and Hulk Hogan.
Hulk Hogan vs John Cena
Those of us that were around for the very first Wrestlemania know that the event was built around Hulk Hogan.
Without him and his massive popularity, the event probably never would have happened.
In a few weeks, we're going to witness the 25th anniversary of the show that Hulk Hogan built.
With that in mind, WWE is very open to having the former world champion on hand for the event.
If both sides can come to an agreement financially, we'll see Hulk Hogan and WWE doing business again.
The company really wants to throw him into a big money match against John Cena.
Big Bucks
Several wrestlers, including close friend Kevin Nash, have proclaimed Hulk Hogan as the smartest businessman that the wrestling industry has ever seen before.
He knows his value, and he's definitely not shy about demanding as much money as he can possibly get.
That's why it's going to take big bucks for WWE to get him to wrestle at Wrestlemania 25.
Hulk Hogan knows that WWE is in need of a major name wrestler to add to their show.
He also knows that WWE wants the man that headlined the first Wrestlemania at this year's big event.
Considering how important this pay per view is to Vince McMahon, there's a very good chance that he will shell out the money to make it happen.

Interesting. Makes sense to have Hogan in the 25th anniversary of Wrestlemania though, since he made it what it is today. But, to have him against John Cena? I'm not big on that.

Hmmm i cant see this happening if im honest, i dont think the wwe need Hogan at Wrestlemania, i mean yeah it would make sence for him to be there because he did help to build it along with HBK and Undertaker (who are still both there). Stone cold is gonna be there and possibly Ric Flair due to his conflict with jericho and also Micky Rouke, i think there pretty big names. And finally it also looks like Cena is going to be going in to Wrestlemania as a challenger for Edges title. There my theories anyways

I have a question. If Hulk Hogan really made WrestleMania what it is today. How come he wasn't at WM10, or WM20? I believe more in Shawn Michaels being the one and only Wrestler currently in WWE who has made WM what it is today. He is the only one who was at the 5th, 10th, 15th, 20th (and it looks like) 25th Anniversary. The only Anniversary Hogan was a part of was WM5. In fact the same year of WM10, a few months later he made his first appearance in WCW. Shawn Michaels has been with WWE since he made his first appearance with Marty Jannetty as a "Rocker". He's been in WWE non stop, even when he retired from 1998 to 2002. Let me not leave out the other Wrestler still in WWE who has had a big impact at WM. I can't make this post without including The Undertaker. I have heard rumors both HBK, and Taker will meet in the ring at WM25.

Lol, I find that hard to believe Hardy. Especially since I thought back then Hogan was asking a lot of money to make an appearance. Too much Vince said, lol.
Why can't you see it happening Trish? Lol. True, but, the WWE doesn't need anybody in particular, lol. But, Hogan would be a nice boost and add some great "pop". Cool Stone Cold will be there, would be really nice to see The Rock though.
Undertaker was definitely a nice part of the Wrestlemanias and for a long time, no doubt. HBK in the later years yes. He wasn't a main eventer in the beginning, and still a tag-team wrestler until the "big guns" like Hogan, Macho Man, Steamboat, Andre, etc. were there.
The 25th is the biggest one, so it's important. Hogan headlined the first one and set the pace for the event no doubt. Hogan and Mr. T vs Piper and Orton? Classic!
Yeah, it's gonna be Undertaker vs HBK. Not a bad idea in my opinion.

Ice....I hope you know who really is responsible for Hogan, and Mr. T teaming together at the first WrestleMania. Vince McMahon was the promoter who made it happen, but it was Slyvester Stallone was responsible for it. It was Stallone who gave both Hogan, and Mr. T parts in Rocky III 3 years before the first WM, and it was this movie in what I believe made WrestleMania have it's success!

Lol, I guess your right. If Stallone didn't have Hogan and Mr.T in Rocky then they would of never met! Lol. But, that's how it works, you work with people in a film and you make new friends. Either was it was sure a great Wrestlemania! I really liked the early ones a lot and think it was really cool how Wrestlemania 4 had a tournament for the title. Which my boy Randy Savage won of course! Ohh Yeahhh!!! Lol.

Another thing I wanna say. Hogan is only interested in stepping foot back in the ring to collect a large pay check. I don't think he even deserves to get anymore large pay checks from WWE. I say this now after he told Nick during a "Hogan knows best" episode when he was thinking about wrestling. Hogan went off saying "I had the problem with staying in the pro wrestling business too long" He wouldn't had said that if he didn't know he was a washed up has been. I know WWE can find someone else to wrestle Jericho at WM25 that wont have that high of a price tag on it if they were to get Hogan. Tell me how much money you think Hogan would want?

If anyone knows how much Hogan collected 4 years ago with his induction in the Hall of Fame, and his appearance at WM21. With him actually wrestling on the show this time, he'll probably want triple from what he got back then. They are better off getting the Macho Man to wrestle Jericho at WM25, esspecially when TNA has a wrestler trying to copy his gimmick.
