Who was your favorite AWA Wrestler?
Jesse the "Body" Ventura, Randy Savage, Rick Rude, and King Kong Bundy were all great during this time.
As far as old school AWA, the master of the "Claw" Baron Von Rashke was pretty interesting, his matches were always big.
I have never seen Butcher Vachon but have talked to him briefly a few times and he seems like a great person. He has really accomplished so much in the sport throughout the years too. I give him a lot of respect.
Have to go with Jesse though. In general Jesse is one of my favorites ever in the sport. As a Wrestler and Commentator. He had some great lines that would always make me laugh.

I picked Dino Bravo because he was a gangster...and if I didn't, I'd probably get wacked.

Also, there's some Mid-South guys on this list who wern't in the AWA lol.

Only one man from that list gets my vote.
The Hottest thing in AWA Wrestling and The Baddest Dude who ever walked the street in AWA Terratoriy.
The Movie Star, The Govoner, The Man who's motto of
"Win If You can, Losse If You Must BUT ALWAYS CHEAT!"
Is still a classic.
Jesse "The Body" Venturea

My vote is Da Crusher. When I first started getting into wrestling, Da Crusher was the first wrestler I was drawn to. Not the prettiest guy aruond, but he was so darn tough.

Nick Bockwinkle for me is hands down the best wrestler in the AWA's history. Many championship, great charisma and perhaps gave the most intelligent interview in the history of the sport. You want a night & day comparison? Picture an interview with Nick Bockwinkle & Ultimate Warrior. Total opposite ends of the spectrum. A thespian and a grunter. Nick is the man!
