Hey gang! Say, I was just thinking back to when my dad decided that I was old enough (at 15) to go to my first live wrestling show, after I had been pleading for years for him to take me. It was in February of 1988, in Boise, Idaho (at the Boise State Pavilion). Here's what the card was, with winners: MAIN EVENT: Hulk Hogan & Bam Bam Bigelow defeated Ted DiBiase & Virgil (with Andre the Giant) when Hogan pinned Virgil. What really stands out in my mind is Andre grabbing the house mike and calling us all a "bunch of %$#$%& pigs" because somebody hit him with an egg. SEMI-MAIN: The Ultimate Warrior defeated Hercules Hernandez by countout. UNDERCARD: WWF World Women's Tag Champs The Jumping Bomb Angels defeated The Glamour Girls when Itsuki Yamazaki pinned Judy martin. Ken Patera pinned Demolition Smash (with Demolition Ax) Outlaw Ron Bass pinned Brady Boone Dangerous Danny Davis pinned Sam Houston and S.D. Jones pinned Johnny Valiant.
Yeah, the undercard was seriously lacking, with some bad substitutions (originally announced matches included Strike Force VS. Demolition, Ron Bass VS. Hillbilly Jim, S.D. Jones VS. King Harley Race). But as a wide-eyed kid at his first live show, it was as exciting as winning the lottery. What are some of your fond memories?

Wow. Now I have to think. It was December 1983, at Warren Hills Regional Senior High School. My uncle took me and I was totally blown away. At that age (13) I never thought I would ever see any pro wrestlers, let alone in my hometown. Opening bouts- Eddie Gilbert vs Barry Hart went to a 20 minute draw. Pedro Morales pinned Johnny Rodz. Magnificent Muraco pinned Curt Henning. Main event- Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka pinned Ray "The Crippler" Stevens. My brother was part of the crew that set up the chairs and ended up getting autographs of Pat Patterson, Gorilla Monsoon, Curt Henning & Jimmy Snuka...but we ended up misplacing them over the years (DAMMIT!DAMMIT!DAMMIT!) At the time, this was the biggest thing to hit this town since the lady at the diner found 4 yolks in one egg! This was a very cool time in my life.

I don't remember all the matches, except the main event. It was Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels in a casket match. The date, November 23, 1997. It was the day before my 14th birthday, and my mom bought tickets as a birthday gift. We were up in the nosebleeds, and I borrowed some kids binoculars to see the Undertaker up close. The show just helped to reinforce my already-growing obsession with professional wrestling.

It was in 2002 at the Birmingham NEC Arena. That was when the nWo was around. I remember watching Stone Cold Steve Austin Vs Scott Hall. Austin literally gave 7/8 stunners in that match to Hall/Show and Nash.

WWF @ East Rutherford, NJ - Meadowlands - March 11, 1990 Al Perez defeated Paul Roma Greg Valentine pinned Sam Houston Rick Rude pinned Tito Santana The Bushwhackers defeated Nikolai Vokoff & Boris Zhukov when Butch pinned Zhukov Bret Hart & Jim Neidhart defeated WWF Tag Team Champions Andre the Giant & Haku via disqualification Dusty Rhodes defeated Randy Savage Jake Roberts pinned Ted Dibiase after guest referee the Big Bossman punched Dibiase
I was 6 years old and I remember being dissapointed because Hogan was not on the card! We had floor seats, but not right up front. But after every match, every kid(myself included) would run to the front rail. I remember getting right up front after the Hart Foundation match and Jim Neidhart gave me a high five as I stuck my hand out. I thought it was the coolest thing!!

Courtesy of Graham Cawthon's excellent site,
WWF @ Portland, ME - Civic Center - July 13, 1996 (4,536) Justin Bradshaw pinned Bob Holly with a lariat Skip & Zip defeated WWF Tag Team Champions the Smoking Gunns, Marty Jannetty & Leif Cassidy, and Henry & Phinneas Godwinn in a non-title elimination match Marc Mero pinned Hunter Hearst Helmsley Steve Austin pinned Savio Vega in a No DQ match Owen Hart pinned Jake Roberts Goldust defeated WWF IC Champion Ahmed Johnson via reverse decision; Ahmed pinned Goldust with a spinebuster but continued to beat him up after the match which resulted in the disqualification Psycho Sid (sub. for the Ultimate Warrior) pinned Davey Boy Smith with the powerbomb at around the 1-minute mark The Undertaker pinned Mankind WWF World Champion Shawn Michaels pinned Vader with the superkick
I remember marking out when Ahmed "beat" Goldust and for Sid's return, IIRC it was before he returned on TV so it was a huge surprise. After the main event, I ran down to the railing of the entrance way and I almost got a high five from HBK but some kid shoved me out of the way. That dickweed. I was an upset mark after that, but overall I had a damn good time at that house show.

Iceman, here was Andre standing middle of the ring then Warrior's music hits then you know Warrior's style comes running down 100mph then hits Andre with a clothesline and a big splash for the win.
I was dissapinted I wanted to see a competitive match but apperently they did this same exact finish in other markets as well.

Ultimate Warrior and Andre could of been a really good and solid match in my opinion.

My first show was also at the Montreal Forum. It was October 25th, 1987. But before I list the results, I've got to say Warrior vs. Andre probably could not have been that solid a match at that point in Andre's career. They tried a ten-minute match on Saturday Night's Main Event and to say it tarnished the legend of Andre would be putting it kindly. Anyway, onto Oct. 25th / 87
Paul Roma beat Shadow #1 Jim Powers beat Shadow # 2 Killer Khan beat Hilbilly Jim "Magnificent" Don Muraco beat former partner "Cowboy" Bob Orton The Dingo Warrior (future Ultimate himself, fresh out of World Class Championship Wrestling) defeated future Waylon Mercy "Dangerous" Danny Spivey The British Bulldogs defeated future champs Demolition "The Natural" Butch Reed beat "Superstar" Billy Graham In the main event, Bam Bam Bigelow & "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff (with Sir Oliver Humperdink) defeated King Kong Bundy & "Ravishing" Rick Rude (with Andre the Giant). The tide of the match turned when the fairly invincible Bam Bam was headbutted outside the ring by Andre. I was scared to death for Bam Bam at the time, being 12 and watching what Andre's headbutt did to "Leaping" Lanny Poffo on Saturday Night's Main Event. The show was pretty cool to me, overall, though it's obvious they were just trying to spread resources and save money with the two useless first matches. I was totally terrified of Killer Khan. If you don't believe me, ask Outback Jack's optometrist. I marked out for Hilbilly Jim. I've always loved that guy, even though he can't wrestle a (mud) lick. Ah, sweet memories.
