Shawn Michaels is one of the greatest. He is a great performer in the ring and has always given his best for the fans. There is nothing he ain't good at. His mic skills are great and he can really entertain the fans with what he does and says like the days of D-Generation X (Oh how i miss thee). Also the way he can perform as face or heel is really good. Those early days as heel with Sherri Martel as his manager were awesome to watch, with the heart shaped glasses and the mirror in the ring! Great memories
And now he is still going strong, entertaining the fans of Raw and still performing at his best and giving top quality matches with the likes of Benoit & Angle. It's gonna be sad when he decides to retire which i have a feeling, won't be too far away. Michaels = LEGEND!

I give Shawn Michaels respect because he's been representing strong since day 1 in the WWF. Him and "Scary" Sherri were great together. I liked when HBK used to battle the "Macho Man", they had some great matches.
I thought Shawn Michaels was injured around 7 years ago and that's why he left Wrestling then and I thought he was done for good? Back injury or something? Or am I wrong, does anybody know?

I love Shawn. He is one of the best ever and is extremely dedicated to what he does. He and Benoit are indeed very much alike in that way.
Yes, he had a back injury. When he made his return, it wasn't supposed to be a permanent thing, it was just for a one-time match with HHH at a PPV, but he decided to make a comeback. My brain is gone today and I can't even think of which PPV it was, lol. But he was great, the match was great, and the rest is history I guess.

Yeah, he suffered a back injury at Royal Rumble 1998 in a casket match with Undertaker. Taker threw him out of the ring and he hit his back on the corner of the casket. He carried on though till WrestleMania where he dropped the title to Austin and then he disappeared to sort his back out. He did come back though as Commisioner for a bit but not for long. Then in 2002, he returned as a member of the nWo and was just a mentor as such, but then he started this feud with Triple H and then he had this "Non-Sanctioned" Match with Triple H at Summerslam 2002 and that was just gonna be a one-off but he felt he could do more and before you know it, he's back wrestling full time

Hmm...thanks Amber and HBK for the heads up. Do you know exactly what was wrong with his back, and upper or lower? Did it fully heal or he just decided to live with it and still wrestle anyway with pain?

I'm not sure exactly what was wrong with his back but i think it was his lower back with got injured so maybe he damaged his tail bone or something. His back hasn't completely healed but it doesn't give him any grief. It seems as of late, his body is taking the toll of the wear & tear of wrestling cause he suffered a Knee injury last year and had to have surgery and then he suffered another knee injury this year.

I think his back had to be surgically repaired, though I don't remember exactly what was wrong with it. It's not completely healed as HBK said. Rarely after surgery does something ever come back to 100% of what it was before, but I don't think he has any problems with it. At least not on a day-to-day basis. Opponents always seem to go for his lower back though and I'm sure that doesn't feel great. Not that it would feel great if it had never even been injured... You can actually watch his knee surgery on wwe.com, I think. I'm not positive, but when he first had it, I believe they at least had a clip, but I never watched it so I'm not sure. And even if they did have it, it might not still be up on the site now, but if you're interested, you could check it out.

HBK is the greatest in-ring performer of the last 10 years. He pushes Hogan real hard as my all-time favourite. His charisma is as outstanding as his in-ring ability. I truly believe he hasn't had a bad match in his whole singles career and to wrestle the way he is these days inspite of his bad knees and painful back just shows how much he loves the business.
I've been fortunate enough to see him wrestle live on 2 occasions in the past year and he proves that wrestling is an artform.

Just like there is only one Ric Flair, and one Triple H, and one Undertaker, there is only one Shawn Michaels. For someone who has been wrestling for so long (almost 20 years, I believe), he can STILL get in the ring with *anybody* and give a grade-A performance. I love watching Shawn wrestle, because he (like people who came up in the days of the territories, before wrestling was national) tells a story in the ring. He makes you believe sometimes that he's really down and out, that his opponent is definitely gonna win the match, and then, in the blink of an eye, Super Kick and the win. His match with Shelton Benjamin during the first round of the "Gold Rush" tournament was his second best match of the year (first bein' vs. Kurt Angle @ Wrestlemania 21). Shawn is truly a master of ring psychology, and I will for sure dread the day when he decides to hang up the boots for good.

I've been fortunate enough to see him wrestle live on 2 occasions in the past year and he proves that wrestling is an artform. I've only been to two live wrestling events myself, and unfortunately, both times, Shawn Michaels was not on the card. The first time was RAW the night after Survivor Series '03, where Shawn lost to Randy Orton, Stone Cold was fired, etc. Shawn didn't wrestle that night because of Bischoff. The other show I went to was a RAW house show last September and unfortunately Shawn wasn't there. I really do hope to see Shawn Michaels wrestle in person before he retires. Not much could top that, at least for me anyways.

Hmm...thanks Amber and HBK for the heads up. Do you know exactly what was wrong with his back, and upper or lower? Did it fully heal or he just decided to live with it and still wrestle anyway with pain? Michaels had to have 2 discs fused after his last match at WM14. When the match ended he sat in the back with Austin and Mcmahon crying in the locker room because he didnt believe he'd ever wrestler again. HBK has received a lot of heat over the years for some backstage things hes done and had to be talked into competing at WM14 by the Undertaker saying he owed to the fans to wrestle. Michaels set the bench mark in ever match that is popular today. 1st to go start to finish in a RR 1st to win back to back RR 1st Grand Slam champion 1st in the Hell in a Cell 1st in a ladder match 1st winner of the Elimination Chamber 1st in an Iron man match When The HBKid returned it was supposed to be a one time thing just to feel his injury out and see how it healed thats why he wrestled HHH he wanted to be in ther with someone he trusted and knew very well being true life best friends and all. I believe that Michaels has had the best matches of his career in these latter years after his return. Those of you who didnt get to see him as an early heel really missed out tho, and he is by far and away the greatest IC champ that has ever lived. He is now coming to his own as the Icon of the WWE and has a lifetime contract with the business.
