Which Wrestler do you think was overated in the WWF? Which one did you think got too much of a push and Vince made famous when they shouldn't of been?
"Chico" as Jesse Ventura called "Tito Santana", when he would wrestle I would usually turn the channel, or now a days fast forward on my VCR, unless he was going against the "Macho Man". Randy was always down to give "Chico" a beat down. Maybe it was because "Chico" was just so boring and plain.
Also as a Tag-Team I hated watching Brutus Beefcake and Greg the "Hammer" Valentine. They were beat. Lol, why were they called the "Dream Team"? I didn't get it, lol.
That's all I can think of now.

I'd like to offer Kevin Nash/Diesel - a truly awful wrestler who put on more boring matches than most guys have matches

Sid didn't have wrestling skils and wasn't a good champion.

Sid didn't have wrestling skils and wasn't a good champion. I actually liked Sid. Your right he didn't have good Wrestling skills, then again there have been a few big stars that weren't the best Wrestling technically: Stone Cold, Andre the Giant, Hulk Hogan, The Big Show, etc. But they still put on a good/great show. It's not all about moves in Wrestling. Lol, I liked George the "Animal" Steele a lot and I don't think he ever did one Wrestling move in his career.

Sid was champion to set up for a "good guy" to win the belt. He lost the belt to The Undertaker and he lost the belt to Shawn Micheals. He didn't really establish a run as champion.

I really got sour on Hacksaw Jim Duggan during his WWF run.Thankfully he never really won a title in wwf ...unless you count the "King" run.....which I dont. But really its not a knock on Duggan himself. The WWF just overplayed the whole patriot thing til it was sickening.Cheap pops for the babyface. And it was all too bad considering Duggan just came off a hot (and very entertaining) run in Watts' UWF before jumping to WWF.

I would say Jimmy Snuka. I never saw what the big deal about him was.

Never liked watching Jim Duggan at all either. Just some construction guy with blue shorts and a 2 x 4. I have people that work down the street from me that look like that, nothing special at all.

Luger was actually a good wrestler when he first started out until around '91 when he realised he could get by on the bare minmum and started 'phoning it in' every week. I must express my sincere surprise that nobody has yet mentioned perhaps the most overrated wrestler of all times, Hulk Hogan!!! While I will readily admit that Hogan was brilliant at working crowds, his poor in ring work meant that he should have been restricted to a mid card level.

I totally agree with Valentine and Beefcake. I was never a fan of their work. Also Beefcake's singles push in 1990, he was not a main eventer at all. The only reason he got a push in the WWF cuz the dude was Hogan's best friend, that is another reason he got a World tag title reign cuz he's best friend said "Give my brother a belt man".

Wow, tough question. Diesel is just too poor for words, and I'm thinking of the '80s, so I'll leave him out of the consideration. Outback Jack is a name that's usually brought up in these talks, but he didn't go far enough. I liked Beefcake and Hilbilly as characters (loved them, actually), but looking back, they were hardly great wrestlers. Well, how about Ultimate Warrior? All show and no go.

Outback Jack was overated??? I would say more Over Hyped.
Deffinatly agree with The Ultimate Warrior.
At least Hogan could work the crowd. I meen says something when you are made to drop your belt to Sgt. Slaughter.
And I have to say and I'll probaley get chewd out for this.
But Bob Backlund was wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy over rated.

Backlund overrated? He seemed to be underrated in my opinion, because a bland milquetoast reject from the Andy Griffith show couldn't get over until he went psycho. He was pretty old by mid-'90s standards, although once Hogan and his cronies invaded W.C.W., popping Geritol as your pre-match "juice" began to become chic. I think it was cool when he first turned heel, because he added a little spice to a really dull fall 1994 in the W.W.F., but I can agree with the "Tie-Dye Dream" that maybe in '92, the vignettes building up his return as the most inspirational thing to happen in wrestling since the return of "Superstar" Billy Graham might have reeked of a bit of overselling.
